Local Love Night

Macbeth Studio and Local Love Orlando teamed up to host their third ever Local Love Night! This fundraising event benefited our urban agriculture program, Fleet Farming, and was held at one of our farmlette sites, East End Market on November 14th, 2017. On this special evening, members of the Orlando community came out to show their love, while raising awareness for our program and mission to farm for a healthier, more connected world. Attendees donated to enjoy a night filled with complimentary wine, raffling, music, and a professional “photo booth” for all to pose with their favorite vegetables. Local residents and businesses donated raffle prizes such as a solar-powered backpack, a cedar raised bed gift certificate donated by Orlando City Soccer Foundation, homemade chocolate bars from Cocoa Brothers, temporary tattoos from Tater Tats, gift cards to local restaurants, and original artwork.

It is inspiring to see how many members of our community share our belief in the power of local action to advance sustainability globally. Macbeth Studio has been bringing community members together since 2006. When local organizations, businesses, and residents come together we can truly do amazing things, like increasing access to local food by transforming urban spaces.

Special thanks to Jim Hobart, Holly Akers, Kay Rawlins, and Hillery Powers (the artist who created the photo op backdrop). We send our local love out to all of you! Thank you for seeing value in ‘Growing food, not lawns.’
